You can get a weber replacement or a custom from amazon for less than $20.  Check out T-Roy cooks on YouTube or Phil in Florence.  Both replaced theirs.

I think that Tel-Tru and River Country both make thermometers that will work in that bezel.
They will probably be more accurate, too.

If your the original owner and still within the 10 year warranty, contact Weber for a replacement. Even if your not the original owner I’d still contact Weber. They might send you a new one.

It was fine for years, but then one day it sat in and around the same position.
It’s still pretty accurate when it get hot though

I swapped in a Genesis thermometer (P/N 67088 ) which has a much higher temp range than the stock thermometer.  Fits perfectly in the existing bezel.

So I made a fire, I had originally only the bottom piece lit I'm going for a bit.  Then I put it all together, and watched it get what ever it was. I closed vents at that point and let it come back down after a while. No water pan or grates. Only about 1/3 bag of regular charcoal briquettes.

It’s still under warranty. Contact Weber and get a replacement. They may ask you for the serial number found on the lids vent cover to validate its age.
