Got an email for SnS today advertising the slow n sear 1.0 with the drip n griddle for $99.

Not a bad deal off youíre on the fence about this product.   Yeah, yeah I know, you donít need this gadget, but who doesnít like their bbq gadgets?

I think they're good products..... I have both the 1.0 and the 2.0.  I like the 2.0 better because I can lift out unused charcoal the next day after a cook.  The stainless griddle pan is also really nice to catch drippings.  I always line it with foil for easy peasy clean up.

Do you think most people would get better use out of the 2.0 or this bundle? The drip pan seems like it might choke down airflow.

I don't think the drip pan causes too many airflow or heat issues with the SnS.  It's main advantages are ease of cleaning when put under the top grate and also the ability to be used as a cooking surface.

To each their own though and some of that might depend on how you cook with it.

The drip pan doesn't choke the air flow at all IME.  It actually directs the air through the charcoal basket, up to the dome and around the food.  I get very even cooking across the grate above the drip pan when my top vent is opposite the SNS basket.  Both 1.0 and 2.0 work very well, I just like the convenience of the 2.0 having a bottom piece to hold the charcoal instead of wide open.  Some like wide open better due to ash build up.  When that happens I just stir the coals a bit.

Hmm... Iíve never been tempted by their products but I wouldnít mind having the combo. Does anyone use the pan as a griddle?  How does it do?

@HoosierKettle , I have used mine as a griddle and it works well.  You do not want a ton of charcoal under it, however.  Not a lot needed for high surface temps, and too much heat will warp the pan.  $99 for this combo is worth it.  My SnS & drip pan are almost permanent fixtures in my 22.

Try Bar Keepers Friend (powder not liquid) to clean it up.
