Spoon Roasts
« on: January 25, 2020, 07:31:30 AM »
Good day,

I have done spoon roast whole in the past. Has anybody cut the roast into steak size and charcoal cooked?

PS spoon roast is the name in the MA. Markets.

Thanks

Don’t think I’ve ever heard it before? Any idea what cut it’s formally known as or what part of the animal it’s from?

A brief google search says its top sirloin. You could definitely cut steaks and grill I would assume.

It is top sirloin after a search. In the greater lowell area it is known as spoon roast. So tender you can it with a spoon. I just heard of the spoon roast 6 months ago. tossed it on the charcoal till medium rare and it was awesome.  going to cut into 4 steaks today and try one.  Thanks
