Hello WKC!
Cheers from Woodstock, GA.
My love for Weber started back in High School when I started working at an Ace Hardware. Worked there for 10+ years and sold/assembled/delivered so many Weber grills. We also picked up customer's old grills and I can't tell you how many times we chunked old Weber grills in the dumpster. If only I'd know better back then.... luckily the last year I was there I was able to score a couple SS Performers and a couple Qs.
I've since sold those, had to due to moving out of a house and into a condo.
Nowadays I'm back in a house and a couple years ago my father-in-law gave me his old SS Performer. It's in decent shape. There is a nickel sized hole rusted in the bowl, but it still smokes a good pork butt.
I also bought a Weber Q last year and use that when I don't have the time to heat up the charcoal. I've got 2 toddlers, so the Q has gotten a lot of action.
A couple days ago I found a big ole Genesis on Craigslist for $100. It's in pretty rough shape, but I think with a little TLC I can get it back in good working order. I actually created a separate post on it here at WKC.
Anyways, good to be part of the club. Hoping to expand my Weber family soon!
