Turkey brine

Anyone ever use pickle juice as a turkey brine? I’ve seen several chicken recipes that use it and those got me to thinking about turkey. Of course, I don’t want to screw up Thanksgiving dinner, either.

I just watched that slap yo daddy guy, use pickle juice to make fried chicken thighs. He said like Popeyes chicken. Not sure what it would do with whole turkey though.

Sounds like you have to do a test bird before Thanksgiving.

I brined chicken in pickle juice overnight once for fried chicken and I swear I didn't taste anything. Didn't tell my daughter and she couldn't taste anything either.

Excellent suggestion! Always looking for an excuse to fire up the smoker!

Was the bird at least juicy even though there was no pickle flavor?
