It’s placed between the charcoal grate and bottom vent. I have a mini modded wsm but haven’t needed to use of those yet.

Ohhhh, sorry... I didn't get that...
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

I think that’s what he’s talking about. Not for sure. It is hard to decipher.

So a month ago I was invited to a Rib-Off with cousins in Central-Coast of Cali. You had to bring your own grill, table etc.The ribs where supplied. Its 5 hour drive for me,so I packed everything I could think of that I would need.Knowing I am part of this Kettle community,I was picked on about which grill I was bringing?Well I didn’t have enough room for a grill and I didn’t want to strap one to the roof.So I opted for my standard mini WSM.I knew I could cook a rack pretty good on that thing. The wife’s head almost exploded”Of All the grills...?!”
I arrive the morning of the Rib-Off and everyone is getting set up(about 5 smokers).Well I’m getting laughed at when I pull the mini WSM out.I am told we are cooking three racks not just one! WTF?On top of that one of the guys brought a Traeger(The Ivan Drago of smokers).Lets do this.
I had a rib rack for two racks and skewers in my box so I curled the third rack and pinned them with the skewers.Set up the mini and didn’t have to touch the coals once.It stayed consistent @260 for 8hrs.We drank beer, talked shit and in the end I WON!
I’m writing this long story to Thank this community.I have learned SO much being here, from restoring, mods,to cooking techniques.Peace out
