Snake Method - Do The Briquettes Add Smoke?

Since the snake method seems to be pretty popular, wondering if the briquettes add some smoke flavor as they slowly work their way around the kettle?

It depends on how sensitive your taste buds are to smoke.
I would say no or not much at all..
My wife would say it does add a smokey flavor.
