I like 30 year old redheads that need a little RRR
« on: September 23, 2021, 04:31:37 PM »
My redhead gasser RRR started during covid lockdown last year. Project was never completed. It was collecting dust in the garage. I’ve been motivated to make room for a Seville that will be arriving this weekend.

I can probably count on two hands how many times I’ve used a gasser in my lifetime. The original plan was to rehab it for my wife. She passed on the idea and would rather use charcoal.

A coworker I’ve known for 10 years was looking to replace his third POS gasser in the time I’ve known him. I convinced him to buy my Weber redhead, with 13 flavorizer bars and a deep fire box. He’s happy and now I have room in the garage for a Seville.

Frame, lid sides & firebox were repainted, all of the following was new, SS hardware, flavorizer bars, ignitor and SS grates. Scrap white oak wood was used to make the side table.

It was a fun little project, only 16 months to complete.

Cheers

Nice job Robert, that looks great.
They are hard to let go of once restored. I have done it 4 times.
My current one I do not plan on parting with.

Nice one Rob.
Never restored a Gasser myself, but admire those that do and the results they produce.
