Has anyone made a custom cart using threaded conduit?

I'm thinking it could look cool, wondering if anyone has done this before.

These could make up the profile of the frame, then couplings and pipe in the middle.

You could make one that way. You could also keep an eye out for a performer cart on Facebook or craigslist. I just found on in Overland Park today for $100.  Even if it wasn't perfect you could customize it with paint and etc.  The tables are usually trash so you might need to make your own.
ISO: 18" & 22" Lime, 22" Cado, Plum SSP, Clean & Colored 18" for Midget Mod, and the usual Grails.

Don't be searching my areas Robot! Lol

I will keep an eye out on all the sales sites but like the idea of making my own.

What size pipe is the performer cart made out of? If 3/4" is heavy enough, something like this could be an option:

that MakerPipe is cool...not quite as refined as threading pipe together, but likely a lot easier in the end.

I've always thought these could be the basis of a nice cart. Add wheels, handles, tool hangers or any other "gimcrack" you desire & paint/finish the wood as you like.

Those are pretty cool, but the price would really start to add up depending on your design. Still tempted to buy some, and they have colored shrink tube to cover your conduit. Could make a super nice cart

You know that's exactly what I've been thinking - the $$ will add up quick!! Right now I'm going to hold off and watch all the online sales sites for a used performer, as suggested above. If nothing comes up this summer, I'll revisit this idea for a winter project!

With that being said I'm still curious - can anyone tell me what the pipe size is on the factory performer frame? Looks like 3/4 maybe 1"?

The interior diameter is 29mm on my performer frame. I used 1" pipe connectors for my 26" Performer but there is a bit of wiggle room.

Learning a little more about performers everyday.

How hard is it to find a used version of this model? I think they were made in the 90s

I can't see the picture but guessing by your 90s comment it is probably a SSP or stainless steel performer.  They turn up regularly on facebook. If it is super rough and you want to change the kettle anyways you might grab on for $50ish. For regularly used but decent shape $200ish.  For super clean/hardly used or interesting colors expect $300 plus.
