Searching for a good starter stone
« on: December 30, 2018, 08:02:27 AM »
Yes, I have a stone we use in the oven. And yes, I also have a cast iron stone that I'm still seasoning. But I saw this one on amazon, and being an engineer, I wondered if it really did work better and was more effective. Has anyone used this one?

It depend on where you are going to use it. In my opinion, it will works only on grills with high heat,  but not on grills with low heat. It will take long time to heat up. It works kind similar to my design https://www.mightypizzastone.com/ by diffusing bottom heat, but my design is adjustable to best match the heat generated by the grill to cook pizza top and bottom at the same rate.

I don’t see any benefit using it in your home oven,  on the other hand the heat diffuser in my design act as an insulation to the stone to preserve more heat when placed close to the broiler, allowing faster bake time in a home oven.
