Cado Fondue Pot
« on: December 26, 2018, 08:56:32 PM »
My family has fondued since I was a kid in the 70s.  Avocado was the color of the grill in our back yard and the motif in our house.  After doing it again on Christmas Eve at their house, I decided to dig out this one they gave me from the old days and start using it.  I have all kinds of grilled dipables going through my mind.  I'm happy to share my Mom's awesome swiss, cheddar, white wine recipe, if any one is interested.

Pretty simple, but incredibly delicious.

Swiss-Cheddar Fondue
1 lg. garlic clove, halved
1 1/2 cup Beringer Pinot Grigio
1/2# sharp cheddar, grated
1/2# swiss, grated
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Rub inside of pot with garlic, discard garlic
Heat wine to almost boiling
Dredge cheese in flour
Add cheese by handfuls to the wine, blending well with each addition
Add seasonings
Stir occasionally to keep smooth
If too thick, add wine
If too thin, add cheese
Adjust heat as needed
Enjoy!  I know we do.

That thing is awesome! My parents had a pair of Avocado washer & dryers for the longest time in their current house. The kitchen appliances in their prior house were Avocado. I'd like to get some additional Avocado items for around the house / kitchen.
