Kettle Pizza - Not Needed Here!
« on: August 25, 2018, 04:32:00 AM »
You can make awesome pizzas on your plain old Weber. A stone is not needed either. The temp inside the kettle hovered around 650. I did put the lid on while baking, and did rotate the pan several times. Bake time was around 6 minutes.

Looks great. Was the pan sitting on something to elevate it?

The pan was just sitting on the regular grate, where you would put steaks, burgers, etc. You can see the the crust got a nice finish on the bottom which demonstrates that a stone is simply not needed.

I'm actually debating getting a cast-iron pizza stone. Looking at this, I'd say it would work just fine. And I could use it for other cooking jobs as well.

Or a simple cast iron skillet. It works great. Made lots of pizzas in the skillet!
