Wood Dale Traveler?

A guy posted a video of his kettle today on the Facebook site Weber Kettle Fans.  The caption read: "How old is your kettle, mine is 23".

After over 45 comments from individuals, he changed the caption to: "How old is your kettle, mine is 60".

Not a very good quality photo of the lid vent but I can make out Wood Dale on it.  Appears to be a 22"Traveler"








But wait, it gets better.  Buried in the comments of this thread, this is what another guy posted.



Says it was his grandfathers and he knows what he's got.  He identified it as a 1964 Ambassador.

That appears to be a mod. Those aren’t original Traveler legs. Traveler legs from the Wood Dale and Arlington Heights era are made of very light aluminum with a brushed nickel finish. They are very distinguishable. Here are a couple examples.

Probably as the red one has a J hook ash pan.   The Traveler was ash pan delete, correct?  Who cares where the ashes fell, you were traveling, right?

The funny part was the OP thought his wife gave it to him as a Christmas present in 1996.  Now he has no idea how he came into possession of it.
