Quality question

I’ve cooked on my new smoke MT 4 times, three chicken & one burger. When I uncovered her today a notice a paint defect. Could this be from high heat?

I’d at least email Weber customer service to see if they will ship you a new lid.

+1 on the Weber customer service.  I’d bet they replace it for free.  They’ll just ask you to take a few pictures.
