Had one, but sold it after my daughter decided to go to Iowa State instead of University of Iowa. Oh well. Plan on making another one soon though.  Just trying to decide what to put on it.

I also had one but gave it to a "new to BBQ" friend.  It was a fun cooker but I've since picked up a Weber 14.5" WSM. 

To be honest, I liked the way the mini ran over the Weber model.  I had a ball valve and threaded pugs for intake control.  Ran like a champ.

I ran across an unused table pot this weekend in the attic, Maybe I'll do up another? 

Question for the guys that have done logos on yours, when do you pull the sticker off?  Did you let the paint cure first?

How do you attach ball valves and how many?  Is it a pipe nipple and electrical connector nut on the inside?  I thought about drilling side vents and using pipe nipples with threaded caps instead of valves. My thought being that I would never need less than one opening completely open.

Another option that looks cheap is just buying replacement wsm vents and installing those on the bowl and leaving the center bottom vent closed. What are you thoughts?

I used a SJ Gold.  It already has the holes on either side.  3/4 (or 1/2"?  It's been awhile) fittings thread right(ish) in.  It's got a slight amount of play but the conduit nuts hold everything secure.  I just opened the ball valve and pulled a plug on the opposite side when lighting.  I made a small basket to sit on the grate so the air could circulate.



I toyed with adding replacement WMS vents but I have been a drum head for too long to bother with that.  I wanted it to run like a drum and it pretty much did.

I'd love to see someone's setup if they've done this mod.
