So  earlier  this afternoon @qwesthunter dropped off a red LE he picked up for me at his neighborhood HD.  Wasn't really too crazy about this grill after reading  all the issues but for $99, i guess it's a decent deal. Aside for a couple spots  of enamel /porcelain runs inside the bowl, everything else  are surprisingly  excellent in terms of finish. No chips or missing enamel whatsoever.
So after inspection, i started drilling away.  Installed gas-assist, bowl brackets and chopped off the handle.  Also reshaped the taco assembly. About  1 1/2 hours, it turned into a midget performer.

Wow, you have some skills bro. Post that to the Weber Facebook group. Tell them how they can improve on the red LE and maybe sell a few more units.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Congrats! The very first Red Limited Edition custom Performer. Nice touch with a larger lid bale and the metal table. Looks great!

Wow! That looks like a new unreleased stock LE Red Weber performer right out of the factory, to compliment the LE Red kettle. @Jules V.  It'd be cool if Weber puts out a LE Red performer into production (standard performer

height, of course).  Thanks for giving us an idea of how it would look like.

First  cook.  Didn't waste too much time so i decided to make Korean kalbi for dinner.  One thing i noticed though is that the red color especially on top of the grill gets much darker.

The gen 2 with a red and metal table upgrade, might just be the best performer combination ever!
Excellent job!

I really dig this mod.  I had thought about it myself but remembered there were no more bowl mounts to be had.

Congrats on a really sweet grill!!!  Well done on the conversion!

Thanks @qwesthunter. This project wouldn't have been possible without your assist.
