My understanding about this wall mounted Weber is that it was designed for a custom Eames Era futuristic house.

Had heard of this but I had never seen this in person. Swarm of honey bees.  There were thousands of them swirling in a 20 ft ball.  They hung in my front yard for about 5 minutes and then moved down the street.

This "rescued from the dumpster" (http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/lime-rescued-from-the-dumpster/) lime has become my dedicated SnS kettle.  Cooked a couple of rebeye cap steaks last night, hickory smoked then reverse seared.   For cooking steaks that are 2" to 3" thick, reverse sear is the only way to go.  The texture of the meat comes out so tender, like a fillet or even softer.  Also, there is something about the SnS that seems to produce a much hotter fire for searing.  Must be the reflective heat quality that the SS walls of the basket have.  The wood handle is to hot to touch.  Believe me, I tried but was afraid I was going to drop the lid. Had to put on a glove to lift the lid.  Never had that happen using the Weber charcoal baskets. Cooked the meat until internal temp reached 124 degrees (about 25 minutes), then spun the grate over the coals and seared the meat for maybe 30 seconds each side. Rested for 10 minutes then dug in.

I'm going to give those a try! I had no idea what they were, but can see they were done to perfection! Where's the other grate flip up?

The ABC Barbecue Easy spin SS grate has a detachable door.  It is designed to be used with a SnS and has only one hinged door that is removable.  I left it off as it is easier to add the hickory chunks and if left on turns almost red hot if left on sitting over the coals on the SnS.  On this cook and the recent Tomohawk steak cook,  I reverse seared the steaks by just spinning the grate, positioning the meat over the coals.  I am still learning to use the SnS.  Next time I will try leaving the hinged grate on over the coals and move the meat to the red hot grate.

This appears to be a lid bale invention that Weber and possibly Happy Cooker never implemented. I wonder how well it would actually work?

Thanks, it wonder if they ever made a prototype? It might have been able to do away with the lid hook.

Whoa, what’s wrong with the lid hook?

@HoosierKettle Not a thing, but it would be obsolete with this lid hinge design. That's why the MT's don't come with lid hooks.
