Opinions on Weber Covers

Any thoughts on the new generation of Weber covers?
Every weber cover I ever had in the past crapped out
a lot sooner than I expected.

Weber cover included in our E-470 purchase barely
made it a full year. And it was a $60 cover at the time.

The new ones are a lot more flexible and easier to fold
and tuck away but I'm concerned about durability vs. price.

I've had Classic Accessories covers on other grills going
on 10 years with no problems.
Are they stiff and bulky?  Yes.  But damn, they hold up.

I have a bunch of the cheap grey ones I bought at Home Depot for 12 bucks and 2 years in they are still holding up great.

When I was first gifted the newer cover, I thought it was not as good as the older style.  I was wrong.  Does a fine job of keeping kettle clean & dry and it seems more durable.  Doesn't shrink and crack either.

That's what I was hoping for.
I've been using some Walmart covers
I got on clearance for $2.
They fit the 18 and 22 fine
and can be made to fit the 26
with a little persuasion but
they get a bit stretched and will tear.

They really are junk but for the $, meh.

Bought a bunch of other sizes 50 ,55, 65 and 75
at Walmart as well for $5 to $8 and some of them
are really not that bad.

My goal is to get Weber covers for everything.

So far my newer style Weber covers are holding up WAY better than the older ones.  No cracking.  When handling them, it seems like they wouldn't be as nice, but they really are.

I do too.

Great features like air vents, strap handles for easy removal and tie downs.
Several color choices but a little stiff and bulky to store.
But the 2 I have for a two burner propane camp stove and a work table
have worn like iron.

Just wish they made one for the 26.

I just got one for my Web Summit charcoal and have been impressed.  The fit is perfect but what most impressed was how flexible it stayed when it was 10 degrees outside.  Quality feels good but I guess only time will tell on the durability.

I have several of the newer style covers. As far as the durability of the new fabric.  So far so good. No cracks no tears. I have them in 18, 22 and performer styles, all holding up well. I use Weber cover #7150 on my vintage 26.  It is for a modern Mastertouch. Other than a little extra material by the lid handle it fits perfectly.

The newer style Weber covers are way more flexible and durable.   I have a four year old one on my genesis.  No rips or tears and black as the day as night.  On the other hand, I have a newer style two year old Weber cover for a 22 Kettle.  It has held up physically but faded to grey in three months.

Well it looks like I'll have start picking one or two from time to time.
Big plus to me is that they smoosh down and can be stowed away
while cooking.   All the others seem to just make a big pile.

Smooshing is good. When I'm cooking, they get thrown into my cooking utensil shed (small).

I have been disappointed in weber covers that I have that I purchased for my kettle and q3200. Amazon has many selections at good prices, the user reviews are reliable. The covers that I bought on amazon exceed the quality of the quality of the weber covers.
