I really don't want to turn this post into another galvanized debate.  I was really excited about these clips, they are useless to most, but they are perfect simple tools for someone like me who is always tinkering on the grill.

There is a product for every function I showed using these clips (see below links). These products will definably work better and safer than using these clips and I wouldn't mind buying them if I were to use them on regular bases...but.. most of my needs for such tools is for testing an idea which may or may not work... I really don't want to end upd with bunch tools that I may never use again...

Thanks for starting this thread @bertventures. I just picked up a bag at Lowe’s after checking HD first, where I found you have to pay twice as much for twice as many. I plan to use them tonight to put a small air gap below the lid to increase temperature here at altitude as @mikerocksthered has suggested.

Great ideas replacing those items from Amazon. Now I can take a Hovergrill off my wishlist. Looking forward to any other uses you guys find for these little wonders!

OK, I have to comment, lol. When I first saw this topic pop up on my phone, I think was either groggy or tired but read it as "plywood CHIPS"  I thought, WTH, this guy is nuts.. when I opened the topic and was about to give him a stern "whats for", it got clearer, oh oops, CLIPS.... nevermind.  LOL

Forgot to mention, I did the same thing. Half-asleep when I first read the topic, I thought to myself, “Well whatever he’s cooking tonight is gonna’ taste like shit.” ;)
