I have had good luck removing stains from our kitchen sink (white porcelain over cast iron) using automatic dishwasher detergent gel. It contains some bleach, and is thick enough to remain wet for a while after you apply it.

I have been working on the rust stains this weekend.  WD-40 and the “0000” steel wool is
working.
