I notice that when you are cutting you aren't wearing gloves, do you glove up for the wrapping process? Or has your body become immune to the effects of jalapeņo?

I burnt like crazy after doing turds the first time. Now, gloves throughout the process for me.

I put smokies in mine, with a hunk of cheese.

When I want to make vegetarian ones, I put a chunk of chicken apple sausage instead    ;D
Dude, relax your chicken.

Naw, that's cool Jo....the ORIGINAL fixup calls for a Smokie or other little sausage type addition....

i think those ones you're using are great....added layer of flavor there......maybe 75% of the time, I lean on the cream cheese additions to provide the extras....
Then sometimes a strip of chicken breast, a strip of marinated beef, even lamb, seasoned with rub / marinade.....or a Smokie of some type.........
The main reason for no additions like Smokies is just for speed of wrapping, that's it......

Yep, unl1mtd.....gloves !!!

I get going & forget sometimes. sometimes I just don't care......those pics are also a little older & may be from the days I used to soak them in Sprite (soda pop) to reduce the heat factor.....still leaves the pepper flavor, but takes a large portion of the sting away for grandma & other lightweights.....

You Bet, Daz.....chickenapple's a vegetable......here's some of my attempts at cheddar :

I have tried a few different wrapping techniques.

Then tried 1buckie's method, and I haven't looked back.

The possibilities are endless with what you put in the pepper.
My cheese mixture is rather simple ... maybe 4-5 ingredients.
I have used the little smokies many times. Lately I've used rib meat from rib tips.
Next time, I think I might try some fresh pineapple.

One tip - Do NOT stretch the bacon ... It shrinks when it cooks ... I knew / know that, but sometimes I don't think ..
It then squeezes out all of that delicious filling that you have worked so hard to make, and then fill the peppers.  :) :)

I mix cream cheese, cumin, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper and some kosher salt and stuff away. Usually make a batch of jalapeņos and some small sweet peppers. Occasionally I will use the  Philadelphia brand jalapeņo cheese. 1 piece of the Costco brand hickory bacon wrapped loosely with toothpick just like 1buckie.

Man I can't wait till Saturday. Got the whole family coming over and making turds, baby backs, steak and potato kabobs, beans, and corn on the cob.

I was looking at the Netherlands thread on the other site and I saw some goat cheese which was bacon wrapped. I wonder how that would go in a Turd. Anyone tried different cheeses?

I have done goat cheese and feta. Both came out good.
