Curb alert no longer!
« on: November 05, 2017, 04:03:26 PM »
Just picked this up off Craig’s List curb alert about 10 minutes from my house. I’m not a gasser fan but it’s a heck of a good grill. It will be used at home or a trading chip toward a MHB Avocado down the street.
Look at that cover, it’s damn near brand new.

Yeah, they had the Velcro on the cover cinched up tight too. I responded to the poster “Thanks for the heads up on the post, it will find a good forever home”. They are built like tanks, I’m glad the scrappers didn’t get it.

I have one just like it, same color and even the same cover. I like it a lot and although I was an anti gas guy for years, I use that grill all the time. I got mine as a gift from my wife a few years ago. I have a pretty good idea what she spent. You got VERY lucky. I`m amazed at how you got it. Congrats.

I actually had some time to clean it up today. By the amount of grease and ash that was in there it looked like he smoked pork butts. They said it needs work on the listing. I noticed right away the igniters were not attached well and flame was low on the left and right burners. It looks like they replaced the burners with non OEM parts and had no place to attach the igniters and cause of low flame. What did I do? Call Weber and get new burners covered under the warranty because the grill is 5 years old. Weber’s customer service is the best.

This is actually the second gasser I found in fantastic shape. I found a 3 year old E-330 with the sear station on the side of the road and talked to the owner. It would shoot flames out at the controls knobs(which were melted) after it fell off his porch. I sprayed the valves down with soap water and gave them a 1/4 turn, ordered new knobs and sold it on C.L. for $400 in one day.
