Personally, I don't like it.  Someone, somewhere said its like the Weber bastard child.  Lol. But i agree.  Never should have changed it, or discontinued it for that matter.

Nope.
Compare the legs and the shape of the lid. Not the same. I also think it looks like a 14" size, but scale is difficult to determine.

BTW, this was a trick question. The picture came from Weber's Facebook page. Yes, it is a Weber, but not like any I see on their web site. Perhaps a new SJ?

Edit: I changed my mind. I think you're right. The legs look different but looking carefully I see they match the SJP.

I think the old design was fine, from a kettle shape standpoint. All they needed to do was move the vents from the sides and go to a one touch system and all would have been right. The new one looks weird now, but Im sure when its long discontinued it will be a collectors item some day.

I bought one, still in the box as I'm undecided if I want it or not. Was an impulse buy after getting my Performer. Thought it would make a good camp grill with similar results so less to master.

This ugly new design is probably cheaper to make and saves space for shipping. It's the same shape as the weber compact in the uk.

It has the European bowl on it.  Its too shallow in my opinion.  THe cooking grate is too close to the charcoal grate.
