My BBQ Cart Project
« on: July 29, 2017, 01:47:05 PM »
At long last I am posting some pictures of my BBQ Cart Project.  It has been complete since early spring.
I need to give a shoutout to @SmokenJoe . He was the source of the copper Kettle. Thanks so much I hope you remember this.

I purchased the drawer units on line, designed the frame in Solidworks and welded up the frame in my workshop.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

This is where I make my first attempt to upload images from the weber kettle picture website.  Standby.....

Wow that’s pretty amazing. Looks like a ton of storage and work surface.

Yeah it is a lot of space. My son calls it the aircraft carrier.  The countertop is 72 inches long.

That is beautiful, you could easily sell those.  Given the MSRP, this is what a Charcoal Summit should look like....you should send this to the Weber Corporate site.

In all seriousness, is there anyway you provide a parts list?  And given my non-existent welding skills, would it work as a bolt-together if red loctite is used?

The drawers can be seen here: http://sunstonemetalproducts.com/designerseries.html

I used the trash drawer, paper towel drawer and the Combo drawer/propane tank.

I bought them from some place thru amazon at the lowest price I could find.

I can imagine designing a cart that could be bolted together. But not one that had no welding what so ever.

As far as price goes, lets just say I have more in the Granite top than the MSRP of a Charcoal summit.

Now for a little market research.

What will the market bear for a deluxe cart like this?

I figured the granite was probably the biggest expense; "frugal" as I am, I'd use butcher block from Menard's and spar varnish.

Folks are buying the BA Tables, so there would certainly be people willing to buy this, especially with the gas assist and double so if it is modular where you can configure the drawers and/or offer a side burner.
