Inspired by Troy form him using his kettle as an oven I used my kettle to make some chops in golden mushroom gravy. It is still to damn hot to fire up the oven. Cooked it all outside on two different Webers. First thing the chops needed browned. Was thinking of putting them direct on the grates but I needed a uniform browning. The wife had the great idea of using the cast iron skillet. Awesome idea! Fired up my lime Joe with some RO lump and placed the skillet right on top. Perfect fit! Did a beautiful job of browning and had nice steady and consistent heat. Then placed the chops in a porcelain coated roaster with two cans of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup and a little bit of water. Covered with foil and cooked indirect on my crimson keeping a steady temp of 350 degrees. Just shy of an hour and a half they were perfectly cooked. Still had some nice coals on my SJ so I threw on some roma tomatoes and some peaches. Fun experience, great meal and the kitchen stayed cool.
