VIDEO: Grilling TriTip, Onions, Artichoke!
« on: May 28, 2017, 10:33:56 PM »
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4d2t2MNHkM

I fired up one of the limes today and cooked a tri-tip with the Slow'n'Sear.

I brought out an old onion technique I haven't used in a while, and I took a stab at artichokes (my first time ever).

The sandwiches weren't as gorgeous as I wanted, but they tasted amagical.

For iphone users: go to the channel and find the video. It should play from here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyZ6nhvVB9h-4evJ7VBtIAQ

Very nicely done!

And I've never tried onions in foil, always just throw them on, I'll have to try that. I'll also have to try your artichoke technique - I've always steamed them first. I will use a liquid other than butter.

The sandwiches looked great.

And the video really emphasizes how adept you are at doing things with one hand.

Those look great. How did you like the artichoke?  I haven't tried those. I like the ending. [emoji23]

Also, if your wkc app crashes on the link, hit the options at the top right and hit web view to play video.

Nicely done man. Oh, the thoughts that went through my head about the look you had when doing the tri tip taste test. I just laughed. Too funny.

That's a great cook Troy. That lump lasted the whole time? Very nice looking sandwich. Invest in some BBQ mits.

Ahhh, not shown: I added 2 fist sized chunks of unlit lump right before I added the onions. I didn't want to run out of heat for the sandwich warming.

Nice vid of the cook. I use that same lump sometimes, and it scares me that I'm going to start a wild fire every time. 8)

Enjoyed watching your video.  Great cook!  With a little help with camera work you can have your own internet BBQ show.  That's how BBQ pit boys got their start.  You can call it   The WKC Grillfellas BBQ show...or somthing like that.  I would be among the first to subscribe.  You could also have guest WKC members on your show.  Who knows you may be able to pick up more product endorsements.

I actually have a 3-axis gimbal on its way. That will help I think.
I also have a full indoor studio setup, but it's a pain in the ass to configure outside so I'm just sticking to cell phone camera and some LED panels for now.
