So there's this guy in Texas, named Steve, that goes by the monicker TX727, that I showed, by PM & in postings, how to do long burn on the kettle.........
There's another guy, I think from Kansas City, that goes by the monicker K.C.Hawg, who has a Primo & an expensive gasser & a real good offset &, I think a Weber also, who thinks very highly of my cookups....................... & I his.........he does really stupendous stuff........
Steve does some ribs & KC had this to say:
"Nice looking Ribs you turned out TX727. Congrats on the new kettle and landing in a spot (The Ring) to have the Elvis of Kettle Cooks to give you some kettle pointers. I swear the Buckie should be on the Weber payroll as a consultant with a 6 figure salary."
So, I got to thinking & decided that if Elvis could have peanut butter & banana sammiches & nobody gave HIM too much shit about it ( he was the KING, after all....)..............
Then why can't I step out there in a gold lame' jumpsuit with my own inventive use of the humble peanut butter?
We're leavin' the bananas out, for now.....
The basic players ~~~>
The wife's home made purple basil & jalepeno jellies....& some Planter's Crunchy........
Also did up some habanero / strawberry 'turds....just 'cause I could.....
Flopped 'em out on Lulu & Bob, with a peanut butter control 'turd ( P.B.C.T. ) over on the right side there....
I can't stress enough the use of "Control 'Turds" for any experimental cooking.....
Panned up after some dancing around to also get some marinated chops & chix breast done & have it all running at the right heat........that's the PB&J ones in the back row......
Had a heckuva time getting a good pic of these things.....need to piddle around with the camera some more....maybe read the instructioms.......
So the report is: these things are great !!!
I thought the P-butter would melt & ooze all out & same with the jelly....
Not so...... the p-butter remained fairly stable, the jelly did melt, but down into the filling & into the inside of the bacon, it seemed.......
Chomping down three of these was a 14 napkin event....8 of them moistened....
So I can do Peanut Butter & Jelly 'Turds.....Or Monkeys Could Fly Out of My Butt, Too.........
