First cook on the Performer
« on: March 29, 2017, 05:32:50 PM »
Doing an (approximately) 3 lb pork loin. Just half of what I bought, almost 7 lbs for $12. Getting a feel for this new kettle as I'm used to my old OTS. Rubbed in a secret recipe I found on a Facebook page. Will update with pics after it's done.

After one hour. Yeah I know, "if you're looking you're not cooking."

Getting close, time for the foil

Finished product, 145° on the nose

Looking good! When I do a pork loin I do a quick smoke roast. Smoke it with hickory around 350 degrees. It usually takes about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hrs.

Good luck can't wait to see pics!

That's pretty much what I'm doing. Using hickory chips in the box and on the coals. Hoping to get it done in under 3 hours since it's a school night lol
