Foil alternative
« on: March 28, 2017, 10:23:08 AM »
Is there a substitute for aluminum foil to wrap during a cook?

My wife heard something about cooking with aluminum foil will now kill us all.  :(

I'm not sure how to make baked potatoes or wrap briskets, tent turkeys, or any of the things foil has been used forever to do.

Wrap her portions in paper towel. ..LOL.  Sorry, but come on people, when do we carry on with life and stop picking every little thing apart, as I'm sure we are all aware, we die in the end, sorry for the spoiler.  (and this was in NO WAY directed at waxteeth or his wife) just a general rant.

It will pass. They always seem to focus worry on just a couple things at a time then move the worry onto new things. You'll just have to ride this one out with butcher paper for awhile.

I'm doing a brisket on Thursday  (no wrap).

I do get being overly paranoid about things but her grandmother died from the thing they say foil fumes might cause so it's done in our house either way if it's legit or not.  ???

Amazon.com. Pink butcher paper. Just like Aaron Franklin.

Or buy some Martha wrap. Put the parchment paper side toward the meat.

Will she'll quit brushing her teeth or drinking from a municipal water supply when she finds out fluoride is poisonous?

We've been trying to use less foil over the years. Never used butcher paper, I'll have to check this out. On FB last year I noticed an ad for Reynolds foil  and said something along the lines of it being american made and to avoid the others because you dont know where it comes from, kind of an interesting marketing ploy.

I use the heavy duty wide Reynolds from sams. Love that stuff.
