I have a 1991 that's more of a silver color. I know that did make a true grey that's older than mine

Your welcome. I really like the grays. I wish they would make gray or at least a gray green or blue.

Yeah, that's a fade black.....

this is a close up of "Bob" my main smoker ~~~~>

His top is evenly faded all across like this....I think it's kinda neat........metal side handle, just like yours........

I'll try and get a picture of it.  It's still sitting in a box, in my shed.....I really have no space.   :(

I rehabbed a 'G' and an 'N' last year for two friends.  Here is a photo of the 'G' (I modded that ash can on there, and later put some Brian O'Neal (Zavod) handles on it to replace these horrible painted ones).

I've got the kettle that came with my Seville/cart.  Unfortunately, it's completely rusted out, and I had to replace it with a black OTS.

Thanks for the picture , it's as I suspected what threw me off was the whole thing is that color , I would have thought that only the top would fade . Maybe someone used some chemical to clean it that ruined the finish or built a camp fire in it . Oh well it's still a B and I'm happy

Thanks, Craig!  Yeah, I was sad to see that one go.  But my friend loves it and cooks on it all of the time.  Rehabbing kettles for friends is a nice way to feed the addiction without filling up the yard.  ;-)

And Hawk, the gray vs. faded black debate is one that comes up regularly around here.  I decided this kettle was a true gray because it had the same color consistently all over the lid and bowl, and even under the rim of the bowl.  But there are a lot of blacks that look quite gray.  In any case, a B is a nice catch, and your whole collection is gorgeous.  Congrats.
