Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

That is a sweet score!

You may want to consider getting it sandblasted.  I think @1buckie had that done to his.  Or, the electrolysis method would most likely work.

Those vintage coolie pans are the absolute best. I don't use mine a lot (too big to clean in the kitchen sink). But when I do use it the results are fantastic.

Nice score, and good luck with the RRR.
I've got Webers. 10 - WSMs, 5 - 22.5" kettles, 2 - 18.5" kettle, 2 - SJS, 2 - SJP, 4 - WGA, 1 vintage Coolie Pan

Can't see any pics that come off iphones & the like, but I'm assuming it's this~~>

After i dropped it off at the place, I realized there were no "before" pics & I went back the next day w/ a camera......they already had it done...two days ahead of time.....bead-blasted, different than the sand, as they said it would treat it in a more delicate fashion......$36 to do it all over....the thing was complete rust over every bit.....

Greased & ready ta kick ass....

"Cured" it around all the angles & it's sort of treated as cast iron now.....

These things are great.....have a blast!!!!!!
