Nature-Glo Brand Charcoal

Any of you guys using Nature-Glo charcoal products? I recently discovered them at the local Chef Store and I've been impressed with both the lump and the briquettes.   The briquettes put out great heat and burn long while have a wonderful smell. 



Only thing I find weird is the way they ash. It's like they don't crumble and fall apart. Anyone ever seen briquettes ash like this......Pic taken next day after a cook.

Never seen it or heard of it. I'd try it out if I could find it. Lol, @Travis, it does look pretty bad.

It performed great, I actually plan to pick up some more.  I'm actually finishing up some ribs with it as I type.

I tried Royal Oak Briquettes from Walmart using the snake method and they held their shape after burnt up just like your picture. If you touch them they fall apart easy. They started real fast (faster than Kingsford) and flames shooting a lot higher out of the chimney than Kingsford. And it seemed to burn hotter.

I just Googled Nature-Glo and Royal Oak Makes it

I buy the twin packs of Royal Oak when I can find it at Wal-Mart. It does burn really fast and I've noticed the flames shooting out too. I'll keep an eye out for the Nature-Glo/

I can see where it could be a plus not clogging up your bottom vents and starving it for air if it just stays in a pile like that.
So what was your final thought with it.

Haven't seen it around these parts... will be looking for it tho. I'm a RO briq and lump kinda guy, so if it's made by them, I'll give it a go!

I'm a former driver for Sysco foods and this is the brand that most BBQ restaurants use to cook with. There's also a locally famous grill your own steak restaurant that uses these coals as well.
