1st time Beef Ribs
« on: November 13, 2016, 08:52:24 AM »
I was looking for something I hadn't tried yet and found these this morning. Beef ribs marked down at wallyworld. I figured for $10 I'd give them a shot. This will be my first cook/smoke on my new 26er. Thanks to @MrHoss for the scotch barrel chunks that I'm using for smoke.
Snake set up

6 racks, silver skin removed

Rubbed top and bottom with Weber coffee rub

On the RR-37 rack and on the grill @ 11:30

Wrapped after 3 hours

rotating wraps for the rest of the cook
Uwrapped @ 5 hours

finished with Pepper Palace Sweet Bourbon Glaze

Plated with some roasted asparagus. Nice smoke ring but next time I'll keep them wrapped a little while longer.
I do like the coffee rub and the glazed is AWESOME. Leinenkugel Maple Dunkel is the beverage of choice tonight

Caera gave them 2 paws WAY UP

I have to say the 26er was pretty much rock solid at 250*(lid thermometer)for most of the cook, all vents wide open

thanks for stopping

I like the look of those wood chunks. Never done beef ribs either. Looks like fun stuff right there.

Nice looking ribs. It looks like they have quite a bit of meat on them.

Looks great Scott! I love beef ribs. Haven't done back ribs, just short ribs. Like Darko said, looks like good meat on them.

Looks grate, lots of meat on those ribs! Usually you can only get meaty ribs as short ribs but you got a few good racks there.

Those look worthy. I find nailing beef ribs easier to do than pork ribs. More to work with maybe. Damn pork ribs have always been my nemesis.
