pierce with a fork, microwave for 3.5 minutes, squished by pressing into them with your thumb in a spoon, coated in peanut oil, generous coarse salt, cooked offset with two charcoal baskets pushed together in the center of the grill, vents all wide open for 25-30 minutes.

Hey @captjoe06
For tonight's cook I tried your smashed taters. Very good! I've done them before but cooked and then smashed. Tonight I did them per your instructions. Microwaved, smashed then cooked. I like how they get the charred tips. Thanks man!!

Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Hey @captjoe06

These smashed potatoes are amazing! Thanks for sharing. They are becoming a staple around here. I'll put them on the Upper deck and let em go!

So easy, right?  I eat them five days a week at the dock.  I buy a 5 lb bag of potatos for like $2.50 and can't beat how cheap, easy and good they are as a side.
