Shipping to Oz (Australia)??
« on: October 26, 2016, 02:30:57 PM »
Am hoping that someone with experience/expertise can help me out here.   I have a package going to Hogsy in Oz.  It weighs a shade under 4lbs and box dimensions are precisely 24.25 x 10.25 x 6.5.

I figured that all I'd need to do is check the UPS, FedEx and USPS websites to calculate postage.    Prices on FedEx and UPS are over $200+ and USPS Priority International looks to be about $60.     Is that what the pricing really is ?  Is there a better (read: cheaper) method ?

Would appreciate any and all input/advice on this.

Thanks,

Demo

If you are shipping international  USPS is pretty much your best bet.

I've found usps to always be the best no matter the item. If shipping person to person. I'm sure large business accounts could be different.

i had shipped a small package (the Weber Wok tool set) to one of the Fella's down under a couple/few years ago. I seem to recall that the USPS quote I was given online wound up being quite a bit more than what it actually cost by going into the office and dealing with a counter clerk. You might want to give that a shot....

I think this is because you can't buy a parcel post label online. They go straight to priority mail which is faster but costs more.

Thanks @demosthenes9, I think Bob is right. Shipping internationally sucks especially when our currency is so low @Golly , @Antisven84
