The bowl is fine.  Not something you would want to do on a regular basis.

Nope nothing. I'm sure if I did these banked cooks on a constant basis you'd see the finish crazing after a year or so. My original kettle I ran for 4 yrs and the outside looked like shit. Inside was still good. Weber replaced it with no issues.

If you're interested,  I  can see how hot I can get this grill. White hot might be tough.
