Bringing my 26 on vacation (yeah that's how we roll) and want to pack it without doing a super deep clean as I really don't have time but don't want all our luggage to smell like BBQ either. Any suggestions from those who travel with grills?

Should I bite the bullet and clean it well   And destroy any seasoning or can I double black bag it and throw a box of baking soda in the bags to limit odors.

Anyone with any experience on traveling on cooker have any advise?

Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

A 55 gallon trash bag fits fine over a 22. I'd throw a bag over the 26r and call it a day. Are you disassembling it for transit?

Yes. I fully breakdown
:
Last year I did this trip with a 22 but it was one I was selling so it was cleaned before and after the trip. We have a bigger crowd this yea so I was shooting for the 26.

I have red mastetouch that is clean maybe I should just bring that. It would save room in the suv but cut down on my cook space.

Agree, wrap in plastic and call it a day.
HD might have some smaller rolls that would work for you.
A zip-tie or two and yer done.

I'd just do a pizza cook before breaking it down.

LOL,,,, just got into smoking and BBQ this past year and I wanted to bring my WSM up to our annual beach vacation in NC last month. What's-her-name gave me a "you're not bringing that stanky thing in MY car up to vacation",,,, so I went out to Ace Hardware in NC and picked up a NEW WSM for the beach! I really showed her ;-).

I was thinking that too. May give it a shot.

I gave the 26 a clean out and and a simple green bath. It's bagged up and disassembled. Sadly it still might be too big with all the other gear we are bringing so the red mastertouch may get the nod. I will update tomorrow once we pack the truck.
