My Diy Stainless Pizza Attachment
« on: August 07, 2016, 06:27:08 PM »
Started with a stainless steel sheet pan from a garage sale.

Lots of really difficult tin snipping (stainless is hard), hacksawing, riveting, bending, and hammering and I have this....

The lid fits on really solidly and it gets pretty hot.  Now I've just gotta figure out this dough situation and get some practice.

Made some pizza with Jiffy mix as the dough and some oak firewood and one starter full of charcoal

Super hack!  I don't envy you cutting and working that SS.  I had to turn a mixing bowl into a sink once and it cost me a brand new hole saw in the process...brutal work.

Absolutely true.  Working SS by hand is a royal pain in the back side.  That said, you did a pretty darn good job!

Thanks for all of the kind words.  I was making pizza on a stock kettle, with just a raised stone, but there wasn't enough airflow to keep the wood chunks burning (they would smolder soon after the lid went on).  I just happened upon the pan, and tried to imitate pictures I had seen of the kits.

That is awesome and impressive.

Not as impressive as if you cut up and did this from a stainless cup cake pan, but still well done[emoji851]

Pizza looks tasty too!

Wow! Never worked with stainless steel, would dremel cut off wheel not work on something like that?

I don't have a dremel, so I'm not sure.  It was thick and SS is tough.  I could have used my grinder and a cut off disk,  but it scares me.  So I took the safe route!
