Interesting find - Sampson dominion kettle
« on: July 03, 2016, 03:17:23 PM »
Just wondering if any of you guys knew anything about this grill. Couldn't find a lot on the Internet it definitely has Weber like features. A friend of mine has it on his dad's property out in the woods they used it to cook on when he was a kid. Definitely in rough shape but interesting nonetheless

That is very interesting, indeed.

Made in Canada ?

@haeffb , highly unlikely …. We are only bright enough up here to design and build THIS POS.

That's what it says on the vent...unless I'm reading it incorrectly.

Wow, good eyes.  Totally missed that when I looked at the pictures the first time.

@haeffb , Wow!  I, too, never saw that.  I have not-so-good eyes.

Then I realized that years ago, Canada was officially referred to as the Dominion of Canada.

So, the word dominion should have been my first clue.  Research time ….  :) :)

I found very little on it. After a little bit of egging on he's going to try to save it maybe piece it together using a donor Weber

The high dome would make for good use with beer can chickens of good size!

I'd restore it, honestly. Hows the inside?

Very interesting.  What is the diameter of it?  I'm thinking the lid might work nice on a UDS.
