Bob's Beef-O-Rama................Extra Pieces......***
« on: March 07, 2013, 02:54:47 PM »
Put this together for the 'Ring this AM......
Yesterday's cook ~~~~>

1st......
A big hi-howdy shout out to all who are intrepid enough to shovel thru four feet of snow
to get to their cookers !!!!

My Feet....

Yep, it's bare feet, steppin' on hot coals weather in sunny California........

2nd.....
The new & improved Photobucket is running a little slow & takes some getting used to,
but this AM I uploaded a folders worth of pics by hi-liting one, holding the Ctrl. button down,
tapping "A" to hi-lite all & then uploading ( to the wrong folder, so I got to do it again.. )
took about two minutes to load....good so far...... then Photobucket made the computer so sluggish
that everything wiped out & I  had to re-do this entire post......battin' a thousand, so far.......

3rd......
This is Bob blowin' some thin blue.....

He's old & getting a bit of gray hair....

That speckling you see is what's left of his original jet black coating he had at birth in the mid 1970's.....
He had a hard life before I rescued him & brought him to live here at the Kettle Orphanage......

But, he can still crank out the Q with the best of them !!!

Bob's Beef-O-Rama................

A tri-tip.......

A brisket point......

Tip got an injection of a specialized Woosty type stuff & a granulated garlic rub.....
point got Big Ron's beef moisturizer injection & an "In the House" rub to match..........
Didn't watch the brisket trimming video so it'll have to do.......

Charcoal setup.........
Otta call these things 'Smoke Rings", but I think that name's already been co-opted !!   :D

Startup......

Aways in it didn't seem like the heat was coming up enough, so I forwarded the coals to encourage things
to get going a bit......

Put down a few sausages to chop up in the beans....

Bean pan in @ 2-1/2 hours.....

Here's what the burn looked like about 1/2way around....

Beans in jail......

Thinking the brisket would come around to done maybe somewhere near the tip,

I separated the coal line at the end......Silly me....brisket takes longer, even if it's smaller, I guess
I've always wanted to do these side-by-side, so this is it......

Oak & Apple make  for a nice color...

Fired up Lulu for some taters.....

Tip was well done way ahead of point.....

Pull apart.....

Tri tip....just like brisket is supposed to do...........

Please note: There is no knife in this photo, it's not needed...

After a short nap, the brisket is done......

I like the point....it's yummy !!!

for what it takes to get where I need to go, the tri=tip is an easier cook, though.... :D

Thanks fer Lookin' !!!

Oh, the beans did get out of jail.....

Awesome looking meal, Buckie. You truly are the Weber Ninja. We are heading up to Nor Cal in November. I think we need to swing by.... ;)

Beer can turkey...it may take a big can of Fosters Lager to fit in the turkey! If nothing else it would be in honor of our OZ mates! The XC want to try the jester hat on!

Don't know if any kind of can will actually fit in there, but  i found a huge sized prop-up that I'm almost sure is for just that purpose...... ;)

 Thanks, "bob"....... 8)

His settle point for cooks like this is 250 ~ 260 degrees, evey time he goes right there & stays put, no Guru, no nuthin', just stays put like he knows he's supposed to do that....it's almost scary..... :o

Great to see you out kill'n it!!  Wow, your cooks always amaze me.  You do a lot of stuff on one grill with the beans and all.  One of these days I have to try that with the beans.

Yep, Ted.....it's a winner with the drippings like that......

Nothing like some good "Beef Goo" to flavorize your vegetable/ legume dish !!!!

Except for maybe pork shoulder drippings, which, I think, are better....... ;D

Just to be on the safe side, I cook whatever type roasts for an hour or two before dripping juice into the beans.........
Probably it would be OK just to start out with them underneath, but I gotta thing about raw pork
& where it's juice lands.......
Plus, your beans get overdone if run for the whole time say, a shoulder was cooking....typical for me would be 5~6 hours stewing......... :)

I'd be on that like a pit bull on a postal carrier.
