Not even close to a buyer at MSRP, but i was checking it out - that 3 legged frame frame design for the grill is kind of macho. Could be fun to do a mod with a 22 on the tripod frame. if it won't fit or you cant buy just the frame, it would be cool to cobble together a look-a-like.

I'm on the fence.  Grills/cooking/food/booze is where I splurge as it's what I'm passionate about.  At least once a month I have 12+ and a few times a year I have 20+ people over for cookouts.  But I'm just not sure the value is there for what this product offers.  I think I might wait a year or so and see how this plays out.  I'm not a big consumer of cars, electronics, clothes...I just like to cook and I like to cook on Weber products...so who knows.

Ummmmmmm NOPE...I'm really partial to vintage. Call me simplistic,  but id rather reload an old 3 wheeler or my WSM and drink another cold one while waiting for the temp to recoup.
Well that, and I'm a tightwad (fiscally prudent).

No. Way too much bang for the buck, and too much fun with kettles. The fuel effiency thing just doesn't impress me with the new grill or any kind of kamado.

I can buy an awful lot of charcoal for $2000.

If I had money to burn I would buy it but can't justify the cost.

Considering the ssp retailed for 550 approximately...

I read the specs and it is an upgrade from the current performer.... .guess we will have to wait for the first user reviews to hit online..to obtain a performance review

The new kettle design must have some deep costs embedded in it...

I'd consider the non table model until I see the grilling center up close. The wire racks and plastic bin look cheesy to me. I would place the Weber Kamado opposite of my SSP kettle and call it a day.

For me the better comparison for this grill is a 26.75" kettle. As they say in the car world- "there is no replacement for displacement" or in this case, grilling area. I'm wondering if a 26.75" kettle with mods like heat shield, additional vents, Roti/stacker, etc.  would get me the functionality I would want from the Weber Kamado. The cost is less of an issue if it will meet my needs and provide more enjoyment.
