Picked this up a couple weeks ago.  The seller found it at a thrift store.

Probably the oldest Glen Blue seen so far..Cleaning up really well.

steel legs, white wheels with rubber tread, square bowl tabs

The ash pan in the pic is a stand in for now.  The original is in complete (original clips present) but has a lot of rust.  It is going through the cleaning process.  The underside of the ash pan is white porcelain (more on that later).

Up till now - I believe we have seen still legs and white wheels on black, chestnut and marbleized.  @Craig  I am thinking this is a 1960 maybe
1961.  Craig may have some input.

Awesome find!! I dont know how you always seem to find these....

Underside of the ash pan.  It was completely covered in rust...  Reveals white porcelain enamel.  This ash pan is made of much thicker metal than the newer
Wood Dales.

Craig

You know we've come a long way as a collecting community in the last three years when we refer to Wood Dales as "newer".

At any rate, what an epic score! I had a hunch for the longest time that the whitey wheels came with the first/early Imperials and possibly the first red kettles. I'd say 1960-61 like Greg Rassmussen's Texan.

Sent from an Aqua Blue Western Electric Model 500.
