I tried sending a few msgs last night but looking at my msg history, it shows nothing. Is there a minimum number of posts I haven't reached yet as a newbie?

I had the same thing happen, but its by design.  You just need to make sure to click the "save a copy in my outbox" option at the bottom left.  Once you click it once, I think it sticks on future messages.

there was a server glitch that happened yesterday, which wiped out a blog post, it may have wiped out posts and private messages too :(
