Turkey on the Roti
« on: November 22, 2015, 10:24:14 PM »
I hadn't used my rotisserie in a while so a brought it back to life with a #14 Butterball.  4 1/2 hours it settled in at .285 and I used a couple chunks of apple.  Not big Turkey fan but the roti makes it very moist.  Should make for some good Sammies this week.  Thanks for looking.

Good looking bird, and you got some serious gravy fixins down below. And a very nice lifted Performer. I see baskets in the lower shelf, you didn't use baskets?

A cutting board would look cool on the Black and Decker Workmate.

Nope, I use rails when I'm using the Roti.  Holds more charcoal.  Black and Decker Workmate cutting board?  Nice idea!!!  but I actually use it quite a bit.

What is the largest turkey that you would put on the roti?
I have a 21lb.er to cook on Thursday. I am planning on spatchcocking it and grilling it on my 26, but your spun bird looks really good!

To crisp it up, take the top off to get the fire going.  Let it spin in the fire for 5 minutes.

That cook almost makes me want to cook a turkey this week ... almost!

Really, that's a great looking bird, we just don't do turkeys.

Thanks,  the turkey tastes great but the best stuff is the gravy my wife made with the drippings.  I do TriTip for Thanksgiving the turkey was bought cuz it was like  .69 a # if you spend a certain amount at the local Stater Bros.  Thanks to all for the complaments

Man, that looks great! Gonna have to do one on the rotisserie after the in laws leave. Don't want a competition with my MIL's turkey.
