Congrats to the winners and thank you everyone who contributed pictures, prizes or comments to an amazing ECook and a huge thank you to 604 for your efforts and generosity. From the Ontario meet up day 1 on Canada Day to seeing the Americans doing there thing on July 4th this was an amazing event. Love seeing old and new kettles loaded up with food like that.

I know Matt is going to fight that, but I think it would be great.  If some of the money helps the site then be may be on board
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

This year's event was great - I enjoyed every minute of it and every cook entered! I agree with @idahawk I could see an entry fee being used two ways 1) off-setting any costs and benefiting the site and 2) potentially doing a big prize - like a grail or a package of steaks - like the kind you can order online but don't because it's really not a good use of family funds...oh wait that's just my excuse...

Keep it simple stupid

Make it voluntary so nobody is left out and  Matt would be cool with it I'm sure

Idea that I like (because I thought if it) is maybe a buck for each entry submitted.  We would have generated $150 if that was the case this year.  I would have gladly chipped in 6 bux for my cook submissions.

Even if its making a few extra bucks on an Ecook2015 Ecook2016 hat, beer coozie or tshirt I think most involved would enjoy having a keepsake. Lots of great ideas here also.

Props to Matt for his hard work, and to all the participants.  It was a great event that really embodies the sprit of the WKC!

While I know most members would be willing to chip in under the spirit that the contest is being performed, if there is an entry fee it could cross over to be regulated under state/national/international lottery/gaming laws.
This is a fairly cheap hobby when you consider the time  with family and friends and how many meals are created.

@Chuck that is a really good point. An optional contribution might be the way to go instead of a required entry fee.

From thinkin about what to cook, to putting my posts together, and enjoying all of the other awesome cooks, I had a lot of fun participating in this years eCook!

I really appreciate the hard work and commitment that @SixZeroFour put into this too, thanks Matt !
