Disc Setup
« on: February 28, 2015, 03:35:39 AM »
@1buckie  I moved it  :)

When I first got my Disc, I had to come up with ways to make it as user friendly as possible. So I used Weber parts that I had on hand. Even though I don’t use this set up any more, I still love the pictures :)
The base is the bottom part of an 18” WSM. I needed to elevate the cooker to a comfortable cooking height and this base was just perfect. Also it holds the gas tank, which serves as a great stabilizer to the burner.

The lid is a 22.5 kettle lid, which I used for steaming and keeping thing s warm.

It’s truly a Hybrid cooker  ;D

That is a very nice set-up!

I had a discada project once … Then got put on the back-burner, so to speak …

Weberitis grabbed ahold of me.  ??? :-[  Hopefully I will have it going someday.  :D
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Thanks MacEggs,
Yes, I’m still waiting to see your Discada setup and first cook on it :)
You promised that back then: http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60803
But I know what you mean, I’m hooked on using Weber grills too :)

Thanks Argentflame :)
