Brazilian Skewer Kit for the Kettle
« on: February 06, 2015, 01:04:28 PM »
Anyone seen this?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shakenblakecarson/carson-rockin-rodizio-brazilian-bbq-conversion-kit

I’ve dreaming of a set like this for years and it looks like it may finally happen :)
Unfortunately it looks like it’s still a project and not final, but I’ll be watching closely.

He probably just got that. He always gets the new toys first :)
I know he has the one that folded up like a suitcase.

I've seen a lot of bloggers sharing the excitement about this, and recall the briefcase sized one that floated around a few years ago.

Being the gadget guy I am, I could see me using it on my La Caja China. I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about it on an Egg or a wobbly kettle though.
I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!

@BBcue-Z
I took a closer look & it is the Carson one that DM has.....he is a test-caser for stuff....

@swamprb, the one that looks kinda dicey is on the Egg, with the lid tilted back......don't really know enough about them to understand if that's an odd postion while working with the cooker?

@1buckie
Thanks my friend, I thought they looked very similar.
Wild Wood Ovens has been selling these sets for years, but they’re extremely expensive

@swamprb
I agree, they may not be suitable for the kettle or the BGE, I was more interested in putting the set on my homemade Churrasco grill. I think I can fit two sets on this grill side by side once I removed the skewer racks

For now, I have a couple of these Souvla grills that I’m using for this application

For just a split second, I thought "Why would someone NEED all those skewers?.....then I came to my senses......

Very similar to Santa Maria style of cooking tri tip
If we were meant to grill with gas then the garden of Eden would have had a pipeline

If you've got a Cyprus grill with all the motors, it looks more fun than a Rodizo.

I kinda like the action on this bad boy!

Even if it is a gasser.
