Scanning CL during some downtime at work and found a S420 Summit natural gas for $50! The seller had downsized to an apartment and was getting rid of it due to not having NG connection. Unit is in awesome shape! even came with owners manual packet and a weber cover. I've been wanting one of these for a bit. I'm stoked.

That's way more than a score!! Unbelievable find for $50 - congrats!

Of course to validate this feat you will need to post some pics asap ;)

action shots will have to wait. I don't have a NG connection in back yard yet. There's a line back there to the original grill but I gotta get someone out to set up the fittings and such. But I'm thinking ahead...

I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Not currently that I know of. I have a natural gas connections back there but it's piped into an existing grill.  Forgive me for not knowing my sh!t but we moved in a few months ago and I just now have a reason to investigate further.

You can see a little of the existing grill with the gas line in the full front shot

that is definately the plan. We have one coming out for a sink install and some other stuff, but I got some thinking to do.  In that corner of the concrete pad I have gas, electricity, and water. No sewer drain but whatever.  I have all the makings for a decent  gadial ganing. Just gotta work it into the priority list. We are the second owners of this 1956 house and it needs some minor upgrades...like new windows to start.

No doubt, that is a score. I don't own a gas cooker, but that is the one I would want to have.

LOL! Update.

Had my master plumber buddy out this week to look at what it's gonna take to get this hooked up to a NG line. Welllll, as it turns out my 1956 house, which I am the proud SECOND OWNER, has a gas line  that was installed by Mr DIY Squirrel first owner and needs to be replaced. It's corroded, leaking, and nowhere near up to code.

Price for running 35ft distance 18 inches deep from back of garage where valve is to where I want the grill to be...thru the roots of 2 oak trees...under a concrete walkway...all connections and a quick connect fitting..and everything.

Wait for it...

Wait for it..

Isn't there a conversion kit to change it over to propane? Maybe saver yourself the $1700
Great score though!

I would imagine anything is possible but I believe the official policy is that it's highly not recommended or endorsed by weber.

It's not endorsed by Weber, but you could change all the orifice's out to ones with a smaller diameter for LPG, and also add a regulator hose in place of the NG hose currently attached.
