Time to rebuild the ol Summit
« on: December 08, 2014, 06:33:39 PM »
...but I need to finish a Silver B I have disassembled in the garage. :o Here's what it looks like now all dirty and with a burned out front panel on the fire box.

Found this when I got home from work today. Delivery from Weber.

The new fire box.

Then I can tend to my Platinum B ::)

Update: so, the firebox I got from Weber was for the Summit Gold D which has the IR burner, hence the opening you see in the back of the new fire box above. I was going to just swap back panels from my original box but that is burned out too. Since I've been using this rig everyday this week, I decided to give Weber a call to see what they could do. Well, they're sending another new fire box and new lid since the lid has some burn through on the inner panel. Should be like a new grill. 8)

Received this today. New lid and they sent the correct fire box too.  Hopefully I can get another 10-11 years out of this. I have to say, the Genesis is much better quality than the Summit. Of course I'm talking about the fire box.

Nice! Just snagged one of these for $120. needs a little tlc but in the end nothing too bad, except the flavorizer bars almost $200 for a set. ouch!
