Ranch Age
« on: December 10, 2012, 06:14:39 PM »
Anyone know when the Ranch went from the 3 legs and triangle setup to the cart?
Do all Ranch's have enameled vents on the lid?
How do you determine the age of a Ranch with an enameled vent?
Cheers

I'm not 100% positive on the design change, but I believe it was sometime in the 1990s  ??? ?? As for the Ranch vents or date codes, Id need to see one up close. Ranch's are one I need to do more digging into.

Every Ranch I have seen has a enameled lid vent.

The date code is stamped on the bowl vents.

I have a three leg ranch with a "J" date stamp. That puts the 3 leg set up at least til 1989, if I have the coding correct.

Weber.com has schematics for older grills, maybe that could answer the production question.

(sorry about the wheels, that's the way I got it)

I do know that the current design was in place in 2000 (DD code). But if memory serves and someone correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Ranch go away for a couple years like the 26" kettle did?  :-\
